Sape Anantha Laxmi [H1-141]

Sape is in 5th grade at Miriam Children's Home. She works very hard to learn everything she can. She is respectfull to her teachers and to the other students. She has many friends.

Suntali was born on October 8, 2000. She says that when she grows up she would like to be a teacher. Her parents are farmers and make too little to afford to send Suntali to school.

Bigyan was born on July 19, 2002. He enjoys going to church and sunday school each week. His parents do not make much money and it is near impossible for them to pay tuition to send Bigyan to a local school.

Bimala Tamang [NEP 011]

Bimala was born on April 28, 1995. She is in the 6th grade and wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Her parents are very poor and can not afford to send her or her siblings to school. Bimala appreciates her education so much that she wants to help other children to learn too.

Sabina Nepali [NEP 012]

Sabina was born on October 17, 2000. She is in the first grade and wants to learn to be a teacher when she grows up. She has 6 brothers and sisters. Her father can not work because when he was in the Nepal army he lost his leg. Sabina's mother is a farmer. They are very poor and can not afford school tuition for the children.

Barsha Sunnar [NEP 016]

Barsha was born on April 12, 1995. She is in the 5th grade and enjoys learning English. When she is older she would like to be a teacher so that she can help other little girls learn just like her. Barsha's father died when she was young. Since then her mother has worked hard as a day labourer to provide for the children, however the family can not afford school tuition.

Sarita was born on March 8, 1996. She is in the 3rd grade and wants to grow up to be a pastor. Sarita's mother left while Sarita was young. Her father works as a farmer. He makes very little and can not afford school tuition for the children.

Trisha Halder [SP 066]

Age: 6
"Before coming to the school Trisha lived and learned at home. She was not able to go to a real school. Her father worked as a day laborer and her mother stayed home to take care of Trisha and her brother. Her parents love her very much, they wish they could pay for her to go to school but they do not have the money."

Dip Mondal [SP 078]

Age: 6
"Before taking admission in this school Dip used to spend most of his time playing. He and his family members are extremely happy that he gets this opportunity to study in the school. He has learnt about Jesus Christ along with other subjects. He has learnt to sing devotional songs and Bible stories. He has also learnt to pray."

Purna Biswas [SP 080]

Age: 6
"Purna comes from a Hindu family. But now that she is at the school she is learning about the love of Christ and how he died for our sins. Purna is learning Bible stories and how to pray to God. Her father works as a farmer and her mother works at home, they do not make enough to send Purna to any other school. They were so excited when she was accepted to our school."

Age: 9
"Ramya is from a Hindu family. Her father died due to an accident. He left behind two daughters and his wife. Ramya's mother worked hard to suppport the family by doing tailor work, but it was barely enough to cover the necessities. Ramya needed schooling and the family needed help."

Age: 10
"Veena's mother died due to kidney failure leaving behind two children and her husband. The father could not support both the children and so Veena joined our school."

"Padma's father died in the army. Life became very difficult for Padma's family. Padma's mother was unable to support the family financially. Padma and her sisters were unable to attend school. Padma needed an education and the family needed help."

Age: 10
Kalyan comes from a poor family. His father is a waiter and his mother is a house-wife. Kalyan's parents are Hindu, but he is now learning of the Love of Christ at New Life Children's Home. Kalyan is excited to be learning and when he grows up, would like to become a teacher.

Age: 14
Aswini is from a poor family. Her father is a tailor. Her mother has no job. They are unable to provide education for their children. Now Aswini is making good grades at NLCH, when she graduates she would like to go to college to become a doctor.
