Sharon has come from a miserable life. Her parents lived as peasants. They could not find work and struggled to support their family. Sharon was not attending school because her parents could not afford to pay school fees. New Eden Primary school wanted to help Sharon so, they offered to take her in.

Desired Occupation: Unknown

Christopher used to study deep in the village but the standards were so low that he wasn't learning anything. His father had little money but understood the importance of education. He contacted the New Eden School and asked if his son could go to the school for better care and a better education.

Desired Occupation: Pilot

Jamir lost his father in an accident. His mother works as a hair dresser but she makes very little money. She worked to support six children alone. Jamir and his family were suffering from a life in poverty. Jamir’s mother desperately needed help providing for her children.

Desired Occupation: Engineer

Both of Sandrine’s parents worked as farmers to support their family. Their income was extremely low. They could not afford to send Sandrine to a school and pay the tuition cost. They didn’t want their daughter to suffer from a life in poverty so, they came to Harvest Children’s Home for help.

Lydia Naluyange [NES 111]

Age: 10
Desired Occupation: Unknown

Lydia was born in June of 1999. Her parents, who are bare subsistence peasant farmers, have 4 children and are too poor to provide for school fees. Lydia was brought to New Eden on September 9, 2004 and has been awaiting sponsorship since then. She is a disciplined, social and obedient pupil who enjoys worshiping God, playing netball (Africa’s version of basketball) and music. She is currently 10 years old and in Primary 5. She is ranked 6th out of a class of 60. Her favorite subjects are English and Math.

Josephine Nakyambadde [NES 115]

Age: 10
Desired Occupation: Unknown

Josephine was born in November of 1999. Her parents, who have 4 children, are bare subsistence peasant farmers and were unable to pay for school fees. She was brought to New Eden September 9, 2004 and has been awaiting sponsorship since then. She is a disciplined, social and obedient pupil who enjoys worshiping God, music and playing netball (Africa’s version of basketball). She has learned to serve God. She is now 10 years old and is ranked 10th out of 60 in her class. Her favorite subjects are English and Science.

James' parents have both abandoned him. He stays with his grandmother, but she can not afford to send him to school.
